Canadian Red Cross Training PartnerA full complement of First Aid and CPR training to help workplaces comply with both federal and provincial/territorial Occupational Health and Safety legislation. The Canadian Red Cross offers a wide variety of courses that meet the needs of the general public, workplaces, schools and organizations.

Basic Life Support

Designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to create a patent airway, the interventions to maintain it, and the equipment available to carry out these skills. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills required to provide the appropriate interventions, including measuring and inserting the applicable airway adjunct based on the patient’s condition. Course can also be combined with Basic Life Support training for additional certification.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Starting January 15, 2019, Any CPR-HCP certificates will be valid until its expiry date.
  • After January 15, 2019: Any CPR-HCP cannot recertify in HCP Level, instead, participants will have the opportunity to take a CPR-BLS full course.

CPR/AED

Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. Courses meet legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Babysitting

The Babysitting course, refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.
